Description
In the beautiful coastal city of Anzio, about 50km’s south of Rome, Pollastrini has produced canned sardines since 1889 when founder Salvatore Pollastrini commenced operations. All products are made using wild caught Clupea Pilchardus sardines, fished from the Mediterranean Sea. Freshly processed, the head and tail are removed and the fish is gutted (but not filleted), maintaining their shape and beautiful silver skin. Pollastrini Sardines come in 4 styles: In olive oil, in tomato sauce and then with chilli in olive oil or tomato sauce. They are great in antipasto or tapas and can be tossed through pasta, salads and vegetables or just served with crisp rustic bread.
